Things To Have is a calm wishlist app for you and your friends.

I started it in 2022 as a wishlist for my friends. Over the years it grew into a fully featured app.

Why another wishlist app

Making yet another wishlist app wasn't a spontaneous choice. None of the existing options were good.

Here are the most widespread issues I had:

Many apps make lists inaccessible by being iOS only, requiring a complex signup, or hiding them behind a subscription
There are apps that tend to optimize for affiliate profit, pushing you goods that will bring them more money, turning your wishlist into teleshopping
Some apps are designed in a very specific aesthetic that interferes with your style and the items you want. You may like Hello Kitty or heavy metal, and feel alien in a Dieter Rams inspired wishlist. Even if you like Dieter Rams a lot, your heavy metal buddy will never be on this app
Many apps are too ephemeral, making them unsuitable for all-round use by thoughtful buyers

Viewing lists is possible without signup
As some actions are impossible without signup, we made the simplest signup ever
It is web based and platform agnostic, so you can open it on any device that has a modern browser
It has no paywalled features, so everyone gets the same experience
You can add items from any website, or describe them in your own words. If you give a link, we will suggest data to fill in
It has a minimal, almost white-label design that doesn't cater to specific aesthetics
It is built with GDPR in mind, and cares about your privacy
It has all the features to streamline birthdays, like notifications, calendar & reservations
It has NO ads, algorithmic explore page, or anything else that manipulates you into buying something
You can create as many lists as you wish, and individually set their visibility
Apart from usual gift lists, it can be used for any use case — from cataloguing your collection in full privacy, to making article-like buying guides
